Walking in Kilkenny on the Brandon Hill Loop

The Brandon Hill loop is a challenging 12 KM trail, you will follow minor roadways, forestry tracks and hillside patches to reach the peak. The Brandon Loop starts in the town of Graiguenamanagh, where you can drop into the 13th century Cistercian monastery of Duiske Abbey or stop in for a spot of lunch in the picturesque town full of traditional character and charm. Castlecomer Discovery Park - Family Fun in Kilkenny

Summer is Here! –Castlecomer Discovery Park launches daily opening of all its activities

It’s summer, time to enjoy sunshine and a break from routine. It is also a time to find ways of keeping kids happy as they while away their holidays.  Take the chance to go “screen free” and get into the great outdoors! 
Activities at Castlecomer Discovery Park are now open daily from 11.00 am. There is adventure to be had as you walk through the treetops, with views of the River Deane on the parks famous tree top walk.  For the more adventurous there Ireland’s longest over water zip line (300 meters), or try the Octagon, our high ropes challenge course. 

Magic is in the air at the ELF village, one of the most popular places at Castlecomer Discovery Park. This year the park has launched its woodland café “The Canopy Café” which means parents can enjoy some delicious coffee and sandwiches while kids get climbing and balancing on the junior woodland course. 

Visitors will also be able to try their hand at archery, the parks newest activity. Nestled in the stunning woodlands of the park, your little ones and not so little ones can imagine they are Robin Hood.  As well as being lots of fun there is the physical and mental benefits, it builds upper body strength, improves mental focus and coordination.

Golf in Kilkenny at Castlecomer Golf Club

Castlemorris Wood Walk Kilkenny

This walk is one of a range of scenic walks developed by Trail Kilkenny and designed to allow you explore more of the great outdoors. Distance/Time is approx 7km/2 to 2.5 hrs. Terrain features forestry roads, grassy path and country roads.

East Kilkenny Cycle Route Gowran Graiguenamanagh Thomastown Bennettsbridge Kilkenny

Passing through Gowran, Graiguenamanagh, Thomastown and Bennettsbridge. This route is a scenic cycling route linking the most historic and culturally significant towns in east Kilkenny. Distance is 64km featuring rolling country roads & laneways.

Fishing at Mount Juliet Estate

In a country famous for the quality of its angling, it is still rare for visitors to achieve the combination of delights found along the Nore at Mount Juliet. Angling tuition is also available at Mount Juliet, to learn the craft of fly fishing.
